At Echter’s, we believe in the power of service. We don’t just sell plants; we ensure our customers are successful with them. Echter’s offers a wide selection of services to help you with all of your home and garden needs.

Planting

Echter’s offers planting services for all of our tree, shrub, rose, perennial, and annual inventory. Planting charges vary by plant and minimum planting charge and delivery are required. For more information about our planting services, please call or stop by the store today.

Delivery

Delivery services are available for all Echter’s products. Delivery charges are calculated by distance from the store and number of people required. Deliveries are subject to multiple load fees and availability. A delivery coordinator will contact you within twenty-four of purchase (weekends excluded) to schedule delivery. Delivery services are available seven days a week to any home, apartment, or office building.

Repotting

Echter’s experts are available to repot any plants purchased in store or brought from home. Repotting services are free for all in store purchases of a plant plus container. All other repotting charges are calculated based on size and time required. Plants brought from home must be free of disease and/or pests. Please remember a protective cover for any plants transported in temperatures below 54 degrees. Repotting services are available during store hours and are subject to availability. Weekend repotting services may be suspended March through May due to high in-store customer volume. Please call or stop by the store for more information and/or to request a quote.

Plant ID & Diagnostics

Identification, watering issues, light issues, disease, bugs… we do it all! Echter’s plant doctor and experts are here to help seven days a week. Samples and/or photos are encouraged for accurate identification and diagnostics. Fill out a plant doctor request form (link) or stop by the store today!

Soil Tests

A soil test is the best way to check the growing potential of your garden or landscape. Plants cannot perform at their best if the soil is lacking proper nutrients or qualities. We offer in-house, basic soil sample testing and analysis for a charge of $6 per test. Soil sample tests will determine soil PH, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels. An Echter’s professional can offer insight into test results and recommendations for soil improvement.

For sample, use a clean, rust-free trowel, spade, or soil auger to collect about one cup of soil to a depth of six inches. Place the sample in a zipper-sealed plastic bag or container. Avoid collecting samples within 30 days of an application of nitrogen fertilizer, compost, or manure.

Tool Sharpening

Echter’s offers sharpening services for shovels, hoes, pruners, loppers, hedge shears, grass clippers, rotary mower blades, and reel mowers (must have handles attached). Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sharpening services for electric or gas hedge trimmers. Turnaround time for sharpening services is 48 hours, excluding weekends. Bow Counter

Need a gift for a holiday or special occasion? Echter’s offers drop-in and custom foiling services for all of our plants. We also offer custom bows, card picks, and decorative accents for holiday wreaths. Drop-in foil service is complementary with the purchase of a plant. Landscaping

Echter’s offers a limited selection of landscaping services including: spring/fall cleanup, mulch installation, edging installation, weed barrier fabric installation, and plant removal (tree removal up to 4” diameter). Consultation

Echter’s always offers recommendations, tips, ideas, and advice to all of our customers. For those of you looking for a more in-depth meeting with one of our experts, we offer consultations for $75 per hour. Consultations must be scheduled in advance and may not be available during peak season.

Spreader Loan

With the purchase of any product requiring a spreader application, Echter’s offers a free spreader loan service. Echter’s customer’s may rent a broadcast or drop spreader for up to 24 hours at no cost. Spreader loan services are subject to availability. Please request spreader loans at the cashier station or information desk in store.

Recycling

Echter’s offers recycling services for plastic plant containers sold in the store. Simply drop your used plastic pots in the recycle bin located by the outdoor registers, and we will take care of the rest!
